槟城锺灵校友会将于4月5日举办【第四次工业革命与未来人才培养】讲座会以促进校友之间的交流及协助大家在工业与人才培养方面的发展。

日期:2019年4月5日(星期五)

讲座会主题:第四次工业革命与未来人才培养

内容简介:
在第四次工业革命(工业4.0)下所带来的创新科技发展,通过人工智能、物联网、大数据、区块链等,进一步整合生物科技、信息科技与整体理工的跨领域发展。这些创新与发展,不只带来新的思维与发展方向,也迎来人类更大的挑战,未来人才的发展也将需要面对这些创新科技发展的影响而做出创新的改变。
The 4th Industrial Revolution brings innovative science and technology development through technologies such as artificial intelligence, Internet of things, Big Data, Blockchain, and this will further integrate cross-disciplinary development in infotech, biotech and all physical sciences and technologies. This giant wave of innovation and development does not only bring new thoughts and direction of development, but also greater challenges to human society. Under this trend, future human capital development will need to have innovative changes as well to better train and prepare human resources for future jobs.

个人简介:
中学毕业于槟城锺灵中学,1992年荣获马来亚大学电机工程系一等荣誉学位。同年获奖学金负笈美国麻省理工学院(MIT)深造。1994年荣获麻省理工学院电机工程与电脑科学硕士学位。1999 年荣获多媒体大学博士学位。
在美国麻省理工学院深造期间,曾任该院助教及研究助理。1994年回国后,于马大工程学院担任讲师。1997年5月始任多媒体大学工程学院讲师,及先后任资讯工艺学院副教授,院长与多媒体大学副校长(学术)等职。2008年9月始在拉曼大学任教,现为拉曼大学副校长,主管学术发展与国际化,并为拉曼大学李光前理工学院资深教授。他的研究领域为微波遥感,感应器网络,互联网科技和卫星图片处理等。曾得多项国内外奖项, 包括1996年国际无线电科学联盟(URSI)青年科学家奖、2005年马来西亚十大青年(学术成就及领导)奖、2011年东丽(Toray)科技奖等。他现为东盟工程科技院(AAET)院士与秘书长(Secretary General)、马来西亚科学院(ASM)院士,2017与2018年度台湾GHF教育创新学人奖评审,坤成中学校务促进会委员,美国麻省理工学院(MIT)教育咨询委员及马来西亚MIT校友会副主席。此外,他曾是马来西亚学术鉴定局(MQA)董事会成员(2013-2018),也担任过几间科技创新公司、上市公司顾问等。

Professor Ewe Hong Tat, a graduate of Chung Ling High School, obtained his Bachelor of Engineering (1st Class Hons) degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Malaya, Malaysia, Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from M.I.T., USA and PhD degree from Multimedia University, Malaysia.

He had worked before in Motorola Penang, Intel Penang, MIT’s Research Laboratory for Electronics, University of Malaya and Multimedia University (MMU) where his last position held in MMU was Vice President (Academic). He is currently a senior Professor of Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science and the Vice President (Internationalization and Academic Development) in Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). He was also the recipient of a number of awards including The Young Scientist Award of URSI (International Union of Radio Science) in 1996, The Outstanding Young Malaysian Award 2005 for Academic Leadership and Accomplishment, and The Toray Science and Technology Award by Malaysian Toray Science Foundation in 2011. He is currently an Educational Counsellor and Regional Chair (Malaysia) of MIT Educational Council, Fellow and Secretary General of ASEAN Academy of Engineering and Technology (AAET), Fellow of Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM) and was a Council Member of Malaysia Qualifications Agency (MQA) from 2013-2018.

In publication, he has published in books, international journals and conferences and newspaper column articles. His research interest includes microwave remote sensing, satellite image processing, wireless sensor network and intelligent computing. He is also active in consultancy and technopreneur development works and has been a consultant/advisor for several listed and startup companies in Malaysia.
